Eligibility: Both emergent, mid-career and established artists working in the creative field, including visual arts, music, video, literature, performance, theater, cinema, etc., without limitation of age, gender and nationality are encouraged to apply.

Support: An exclusive architecture and location. A small but lively town by the sea, with the option of secluded tranquility or spiritedness of the community. Artists have the possibility to work in a small atelier, on spacious outside terraces or simply enjoy a retreat for rest. There is space to accommodate artists in comfortable and beautiful rooms (single or double).

Program Description:

In the heart of the historic center of the town of Piran is a  private and contemporary residence/retreat for artists. It was designed in 2009 by a contemporary architectural biro and owned by an art institute which has over the years used the villa for artistic, musical productions as well as poetry, and performance.

We offer most of the spaces of the house for intercultural and interdisciplinary exchange with professionals (both foreign and Slovenian). These activities aim mainly to the creation of new projects, ideas, and artworks in a stimulating environment, in contact with other artists.

The residence offers space for the artistic production of various size and media.
This is an exclusive opportunity to develop new ideas in a  beautiful and quiet yet lively location by the sea. 

Artists can apply for minimum one week and maximum for two weeks per time.

- A cover letter that describes the purpose of your stay and which kind of work you wish to produce in relation to your career and/or personal development (pdf)

- Curriculum vitae that include both professional and few basic biographic info (pdf)

- Ten images of artworks in jpg (if you are a visual artist). One or more links to a web page or other links that show your professional activity and former work.

Make sure to include your contact info and preferred period of residency (1.8.-14.8., 15.8.-30.8., 01.9.-14.09, specify preference f 1 or 2 weeks).

The maximum number of artists per residency is 3
